It’s almost here. Christmas! Time to settle in with family and friends. Time to reflect on all of the things to be thankful for this year.
I’m feeling especially blessed as I look back over the last 12 months in this business. It has transformed from an “I sure hope this works out because I love it” venture to a legitimate business model.
This is the best “job” I’ve ever had. I love getting to celebrate kids every day on social media. I appreciate the opportunity to read the awesome comments from parents who are so thankful for the dedicated teachers at their school. I don’t even mind the occasion to help out busy superintendents and principals handle those negative comments that show up from time to time.
Here are just a few highlights from 2015:
- This is my 47th blog post this year. Wow! This, coming from a math and science major, is huge. But you know what? When I decided to write for you – my folks that are striving to tell the story of your school—it made it so easy to come up with topics worth writing about!
- Nine additional schools came on board this year and we’re excited to be launching two more in January. That means thousands of students, families, teachers, and community members are enjoying what is happening in our schools.
- I became a children’s author! That wasn’t even on the radar a year ago. I saw a need for a book to help parents talk to their young kids about technology. When I couldn’t find one, I just decided to write it. Check it out here.
- My team of dedicated moms went from one to six! How fun to provide meaningful work and income to women who want to have some flexibility to keep their kids first. Plus I added a young gal out of Colorado to help with website content updates for schools.
- And I how could I forget; I got married! I went from a mom of two girls to adding a supportive husband along with four energetic stepsons.
Life is good. I’m sure the list could go on and on, but I’ll stop there.
Merry Christmas from your #SocialSchool4EDU team,
Andrea, Emily, Allison, Brenda, Heather, Joanna, Stacy, and Kandra
