Social media offers a whole new way to communicate with your community. After 10,000 posts for 17 different districts, we’ve been through the good, the bad, and the ugly.
But we’ve also been through the funny!
The ability to message privately to your Facebook page is a great way to connect. We’ve been able to get answers to questions quickly and efficiently – to meet parents or community members where they are, hanging on Facebook.
Along with the serious, you’ll likely receive funny messages as well.
With tomorrow being April Fool’s Day, we thought it would be fun to share some of the messages we’ve received. In some cases, we’ve shared our reactions as well. All of the names, phone numbers, and other details have been changed to protect the embarrassed!
- Jane – Hello, may I ask you something?
- School Response – Of course; we are here to help!
- Jane – I wonder about your rules for hair. It’s just that my younger cousin is about to start at your school and his hair looks like a big mop.. it would be so funny when he has to get it cut (wink emoticon)
- School Response – I see! I’ll have to look into that. I’ll try to get you a response today!
- Jane – Haha okay thanks a lot (smile emoticon)
- School Response – We took a look at the student handbook and the only general reference we have is a “neat appearance.” Nothing specific on length or style of hair. But thanks for asking!
- Jane – Okay…too bad lol (smile emoticon)
- Patty – I would like to know, is it normal to send a kindergarten student to the office for giving a little boy in her class “love notes” and say it’s not what “WE do in kindergarten? Please direct me in the guidelines where this is inappropriate behavior that needs to be punished and threatened if she does it again she will have privileges taken away and be required to spend her time in the office?
- Wendy – Can you please post this on the school page! Thank you! (smile emoticon)
- School Response – We’ve sent the information to the administration, but it’s not something we can put on the page itself. The office has the information. Thank you.

- Tom – I’ll just drop it off in the morning. Thanks
- Cindy – Will you be having donkeyball again this year?
- School Response – At this point, it doesn’t look like it. Typically donkey basketball is done every other year – or every 3 years. If things change, we will let you know.
