Social media is fun. Social media is powerful.
But, social media is also a four-letter word: WORK.
While creating the past 100+ blog posts on social media, my goal has been to help schools tell their stories. It’s also been to share tips and tricks and suggestions. But more than sharing, I like to listen!
What are your biggest struggles? What do you need more help with?
In understanding the answers to those questions, I can provide more help! More access to the experts. More tips to make your job just a little bit easier.
I recently reached out to my newsletter subscribers (if you’re not a subscriber yet, click here) to ask them one simple question: What is your biggest struggle with social media for your school?
The individual answers provided a lot of valuable information, but to examine the most popular responses, I categorized them. There were nine struggles, which are listed below with respondent percentage (out of 96):
- Time – 35%
- Content/consistency – 26%
- Getting staff acceptance/excitement about social media – 16%
- Reach (or growing the audience) – 8%
- Equality of content (ages, activities, etc) – 5%
- Engagement (interaction with posts) – 4%
- Multiple accounts (each school has a separate account) – 2%
- Knowing where to start – 2%
- Privacy/confidentiality – 1%
Can you relate to these struggles?
