The team at #SocialSchool4EDU has learned a lot in the last four years. What started as a pilot program with one little school in Wisconsin has exploded into a business that now celebrates more than 100,000 students across the country on a daily basis!
#SocialSchool4EDU CEO Andrea Gribble is dedicated to making sure that her mission of celebrating students and connecting communities stays the central focus of her expanding company. “Schools are amazing, but they don’t always do a great job of telling their story. That’s where #SocialSchool4EDU comes in. We offer social media management, coaching, graphics support, and more to schools who need help maximizing their social media presence.”
Case in point: Fall River School District, a small district in Wisconsin. Like many schools, the district considered managing their own social media. Since most districts don’t have a full-time communications person, so social media gets added to the plate of an administrative assistant, teacher’s aide, or even a teacher. They had a teacher who wanted to volunteer to take on the role.
“So after learning more about the services offered by #SocialSchool4EDU, I asked this teacher if she was willing to monitor the page on evenings, weekends, and summer vacation. I also asked her if she would make sure to post at least twice per day, coordinate features of our students and staff, and help ensure that we had great graphics. She quickly pulled back her offer,” reported the Superintendent.
Andrea Gribble’s team from #SocialSchool4EDU jumped in and the district is building a solid foundation for their social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
In order to offer all of these services and stay on top of ever-changing social media platforms, Gribble has seen the need for new leadership positions within her team. In May 2017, she added Heidi Feller as Chief Inspirational Officer- a role that has expanded immensely especially within the past six months.
One year later, the company is ready to announce its newest team leader as the next step in growing and changing along with schools and social media. Stephanie Sinz, account manager and coach for #SocialSchool4EDU, has been dubbed Chief People Officer (CPO).
This job title alludes to the internal leadership role Sinz has taken on. In Gribble’s words, “It is critical that we offer training and support for our team of 25 account managers, so we brought on a Chief People Officer. It’s kind of a human resource type role, but we like to give fun titles!”
As described by Gribble, Sinz is the perfect fit for the position.“Stephanie has jumped into this role with enthusiasm and instant impact. She is a teacher, was trained as an instructional coach, and is married to a superintendent. If she isn’t the perfect person for this job, I don’t know who would be.”
Sinz’s background in the world of education is truly an asset to her and #SocialSchool4EDU on the whole. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (grades 1 – 8) and Special Education (Learning Disabilities), Stephanie worked as an elementary school teacher for ten years. Thus, she is able to assume both the role of teacher and student in working with fellow account managers.
Sinz observed the same phenomenon: “ I find my job as Chief People Officer for #SocialSchool4EDU a perfect extension of my career as an educator. It is about continuous improvement and working with others to produce amazing results.” She loves all of the opportunities she has to “share ideas with other account managers and provide support to customer schools.”
Stephanie’s own experience in the classroom is not the only facet that has prepared her to be CPO. “To say that my life has centered around education would be an understatement. In addition to my time as an elementary teacher, my husband has also been immersed in education for more than a decade,” said Sinz.
Her husband presently serves as the superintendent of the Wisconsin Heights School District, which is 20 minutes west of Madison, WI in Dane County. Having a husband in a school leadership position gives her a unique perspective, as she sees the challenges that school districts and leaders face every day. As she noted, “This “real life” experience helps me better serve our clients, and to be sensitive to their ever-changing needs.”
Sinz’s astute devotion to providing fitting services to schools even as social media changes daily is not lost on CIO (Chief Inspirational Officer) Heidi Feller. “Adding Stephanie to our team as CPO takes our social media game to the next level. The support and feedback Stephanie offers our growing team helps us continue to serve our schools in the best possible way by ensuring that account managers stay in the know about the latest and greatest trends on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram,” commented Feller.
#SocialSchool4EDU, including Gribble, Feller, and all other account managers, is thrilled to be able to support Stephanie in her new role, and cannot wait to see the impact her creativity as Chief People Officer has for the overall trajectory of the company.
