Tune in to “Create Your Clique” podcast episode 54 with host Tena Pettis and guest Andrea Gribble. Tena Pettis (2015, June 18). “Collaborate & Listen”
I talk to my competition daily. In fact, we have clients that not only do some of the things we do, »»» they have the same exact target market.
Yes, you read that right. We have clients that are going after the same peeps as us and get this…we are helping them do it!
Now, we don’t do this because we are weak, naïve, or wanting to find out all of their trade secrets. We do this because it just makes sense.
Let me share.
So, why play nice?
Being a lone business owner is exactly that » lonely.
In this world of entrepreneurship combined with our industry (oh, and take away the X chromosome) is a path not many have traveled.
There is a reason they have coined this the “collaboration economy.” We need one another to survive. Banded together, building tribes collectively + being open to sharing our successes along with struggles will change the way we all do business.
This last year I met Andrea Gribble. Sitting across from me at a networking group, she was familiar with tena.cious and excited to meet me in person. Her business? Social Media Management.
At first, I am not gonna lie, I was thinking ”Dang! This woman has it going on! She is new to the industry, probably not charging enough, and the part that really stung… going to grab up the potential clients in this room.”
These thoughts passed as quickly as they came. I reminded myself that gas stations purposefully set up shop next to one another in high traffic areas. The point? There is always enough business to go around. We have heard this before but we do not always think about how key this really is.
Andrea quickly became a peer, friend, and get this… a client. Together, we created a mastermind group where we meet each month. Also, last week I attended her gorgeous wedding and Andrea is a huge raving fan of our offerings.
Since Andrea and I first met, things have changed in her business. She niched down. It might possibly be one of the coolest biz stories I have ever come across. I had the privilege of interviewing Andrea this week on the CLIQUE podcast and I love this episode for so many reasons!
Who is it that you need to collaborate with?
Don’t do this biz thing alone.
I would love to hear your thoughts so as always, just hit reply… I actually respond.
Much love,
tena
