We train your staff to be social media storytellers so you can stand out from other schools, celebrate your students and staff, and reach thousands in your community every day.
Building #SchoolPR Excellence, One Post at a Time!
We don’t know everything. We focus on mastering the basics and creating efficient systems to set you up for success. With over one million school social media posts under our belt, we’ve seen it all and know how to help. That’s why we’ve created this community: To support, train, and inspire school PR professionals on social media.
If you can dedicate 30-45 minutes every week to soaking up the latest social media tips, tricks, and shortcuts, you’ve come to the right place. If you enjoy self-paced learning, we’ve got your back. And if you appreciate having a sounding board when making decisions, this community is 100% the right place for you.
Is our program really any different from what you can find for free online? Well, no! We don’t share or discuss anything that you couldn’t eventually find on your own! The difference is that you’ll save countless hours researching since everything you need is in one place. Plus, every single person in the group works in school PR, so you have access to the best and brightest minds in our industry.
I’m on an island.”
That’s how Dawn Brauner, communication specialist for Portage Community School District in Wisconsin, described her role. Looking for a place to start, she tapped into her Public Relations Degree and discovered the free tools available from #SocialSchool4EDU.
Dawn soon transformed her district’s minimal social media presence into a vibrant, engaged community. She built connected audiences across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Her social media posts began reaching hundreds – and soon, thousands – of people.
But Dawn’s time is extremely limited. She’s pulled in a million different directions, every week, as a one-person school PR shop. So, to maximize her limited time, she joined the Social Media Crew for Schools.
Dawn now dedicates minimal time to social media while still maintaining her stellar results. She builds off the ideas shared in the group, attends trainings that fit her schedule and interests, and implements time-saving hacks. If Dawn has a question that she fears is foolish, she comes to a place where judgment is non-existent and support is abundant: The Crew! Learn exactly what will happen once you sign up for our program!
The Social Media Crew for Schools is one contributing factor to Dawn’s school district’s social media presence and success. If you’re looking to create systems for consistently telling your school’s stories on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, then this program might be just what you need!

What Our Members Are Saying
With the membership program, we definitely have seen a return on investment. We’ve significantly increased our reach, the followers that we have, and the likes on our page!
– Cala Elliott
Director of Public Relations
Sherrard School District, Illinois
The most significant benefit that I have had in this membership group for the last two years is having someone else research the science and trends that are happening in social media. Then, in turn, share best practices with me. It has freed up so much time, making communication and social media less complicated and more efficient.

What Happens After You Join Membership?
We have a simple onboarding process to set you up for success. Our members aren’t just thrown into the water to sink or swim; we provide personalized support, helping you get acclimated at your own pace.
Melissa Marti, our Membership Director, acts as your concierge in the program. She can answer any/all questions (there’s no such thing as a dumb question!) and point you in the right direction for the exact resources you need. The fastest way to get an answer is to create a post inside the group, because Melissa and other members will chime in.
Here’s what happens after you fill out the registration form:
- You will receive an email from Melissa with instructions on how to join the private Facebook group.
- Once you’re inside the group, you will see an Events tab. Click that tab and RSVP to the next New Member Welcome call – plus any other events that catch your eye!
- Next, explore the Guides section. Pick one to start working through, such as Social Media Bootcamp or the Instagram Challenge, which will provide a solid foundation for all future training sessions.
- Scroll through the last few days of discussions to get a feel for questions and topics. Feel free to chime in with a comment or two, or ask your most burning question.
- Every Friday, you will receive a summary email that includes notes on the last 7 days of group discussions, new content and resources, important reminders, and more. Take a few minutes to scan through this every week!
That’s it! Above all, we advise new members not to try to tackle everything at once. You will feel overwhelmed. Instead, take what you need and you can always come back for more.
We can’t wait to welcome you into the Crew!

Membership Program FAQs
What if I don’t have the budget for this?
Professional development funding is part of every school’s budget. If better social media leads to more students attending your school, this program pays for itself.
What if I don’t have enough time?
It takes less than one hour a week to make substantial progress. And the more tips and tricks you implement, the more time you will save in your day.
My school doesn’t think social media is important. What can I tell them?
Social media is a powerful tool that can help you reach thousands of people, every day, with positive stories from your school. This has a direct impact on your school’s enrollment and ability to pass ballot measures. The bottom line: if you aren’t telling your story, who is?
Other training programs haven’t worked for me. How is this any different?
A one-time social media training will not get you very far. You need ongoing support to keep up with all the changes in social media. You also need a safe place to ask questions and brainstorm ideas with your peers. This is all part of our program.
Can’t I find all this information for free?
You can certainly find the answers to your social media questions online. But how long does that take you? And is it customized to social media for schools? We do the legwork, curating the best information, and help you apply ideas that will produce immediate results. Inside the membership program, you will also experience facilitated virtual discussions and live trainings that are targeted to your pain points.
What if I already know what I’m doing with social media?
If you already know it all, this program isn’t for you! But we believe we have something for everyone. We have veteran school communicators with 20+ years of experience learning alongside individuals who are brand-new to their roles. Everyone in our program is open to trying new ideas and learning new strategies.
You give away so much for free. Why would I pay for more?
In the words of one of our members, Jeanne Baudino Berlin, “If all you are seeing is the free stuff… you ain’t seen nothing yet!”
Andrea has been blogging since 2014, creating YouTube videos since 2015, and cranking out free downloads, webinars, and Q&As along the way. All of this content is specifically aimed at elevating school social media and making it easy (and fun!) for those running it.
But inside the online membership program, you get even more.
Step-by-step guides to help you learn basic and advanced social media concepts. A private community of support with your peers for ideas, advice, and inspiration. 24/7 access to ask questions and troubleshoot problems. Live, facilitated training sessions and access to ALL recorded resources dating back to 2014.
Member Szilvi Lázár had this to say: “Being a member is like having a 5-star hotel smorgasbord breakfast every morning, all-inclusive!!! You can go back to any resource any number of times, search the file directory or the discussions by keyword and you have access to the recordings of ALL previous webinars, skill trainings, everything. If you become a member today it’d be like you’d been a member from the start!”
Member Lori Marini also summed it up well: “The community is the most valuable resource. The consumable resources are wonderful but the personal connections are what keep me coming back.”
You’ll feel less alone and more supported and empowered than you are, right now. In short, if you’ve loved our free stuff - we’re so glad! If you found value there, imagine how much more you can get with our paid content.
Why would I need to join year after year in this membership program?
Let’s face it, social media always changing. In a perfect would, there would be an effective “one and done” training that would prepare you for managing all the ups and downs - but that’s just not possible!
The team at #SocialSchool4EDU has its finger on the pulse of what’s working for schools every day, every month, every quarter, and every year. When you join our membership, you’ll always get the most up-to-date information and the latest training! Plus, the 24/7 support of our private Facebook community is a safe and valuable place to bounce ideas and get your questions answered.
